- Select your geographic region of interest
- Type in the name of the county, city, or zip code you are interested in, OR,
- Zoom in with the zoom feature and drag the map to your area of interest
- Note the data being displayed in the "Currently Viewing" section at the bottom of the screen. This will show you the geographic scale, pesticide or pesticide group, crop, year, and metric of pesticide use currently displayed.
- Adjust the options of the map you are viewing
- Select year (from 1991-2018)
- Select geographic unit (county, township, or section)
- Select summary unit of pesticide use (summed pounds, acres treated, or pounds/acre)
- Select pesticides (including pesticide categories or specific chemicals)
- Select crops (crop categories or specific crops)
- Explore time trends of pesticide use within a specific geographic region
- Click on the geographic area of interest to display a pop-up box that includes summed pounds, treated acres, and pounds per acre for the year, pesticide, and crop selected
- In this pop-up box, select "Time series tables & charts" to view pesticide use data for that specific area and for the selected pesticide(s) from 1991 to 2018
- Explore top ten pesticides used within a specific geographic region
- Click on the geographic area of interest to display a pop-up box that includes summed pounds, treated acres, and pounds per acre for the year, pesticide, and crop selected
- In this pop-up box, select "Top ten pesticides" to view the top ten pesticides used by pound for that specific area (as well as the specified year, pesticide type, and/or crop selected)
- You can also view the top ten pesticides by treated acres and by rate
